WHAT IS IT?

The Thursday night project is The Crocus’ weekly evening of fun. It has a regular schedule every month but sometimes can change for special events. At the moment the nights are:

1st Thursday: Board Games Night
2nd Thursday: Restaurant (3 Course meal) Night
3rd Thursday: Arts and Crafts Night
4th Thursday: Acoustic Night. (Music organized by a volunteer)

WEEKLY TASKS INCLUDE:

-Opening the café each Thursday at 6.45pm and closing after cleaning up 10.30pm
-Cashing up at the café
-Creating a facebook event every Sunday or Monday for the following Thursday
-Making sure we have a chef and 2 or 3 volunteers each week. (Currently we have a chef covering at least 2 Thursdays a month)
-Thinking creatively about ways to increase the turnout of each event through either publicity or changing the events themselves.

CAN I DO IT?

The Thursday Night Project is currently looking for a coordinator. The coordinator will organize the weekly events or make sure that someone else is organizing them. Crucially the organizer must be able to be there almost every week and be keen to promote the evenings to get bigger crowds coming in.

WHAT DO I GET OUT OF IT?

Well firstly you are going to be helping an amazing local non-profit organization provide a wonderful night of fun for the community.
Secondly you’ll get amazing experience at events coordination, which will look great on your CV.
And thirdly…you’ll get an amazing free meal every week.
